In The Mystery of the Missing Stallion, Barbie has a job reporting about the new movie being filmed at Star Canyon Ranch and as a surprise, she takes along her friend, Teresa. But the set has been plagued with problems - and Sam, the assistant director, called Barbie with ulterior motives - he wants her to investigate the problems and get things back on track. Barbie's only too happy to help.

I liked the mystery. It was fairly straightforwards although I did slip up - I really thought Matt Carson had a twin brother rather than just a doppelganger. but had a few twists to keep it interesting. The characters were alright.

It's a short sweet easy mystery for young readers. Highly recommended for young girls. Similar style to the Babysitter's Club Mysteries. Or Emily Rodda's Teen Power Inc. My rating 3.5 stars. Target audience 3.5 stars, rounded to 4.
