Mystery, suspense, supernatural and a bit of romance, it’s a must-read.
Love Lies and Azure Eyes by Janis Thornton is spectacular. I absolutely loved everything; seriously, this book has it all and more. This book is a must read, so I am super highly recommending it.
Annie Sinclair
Annie is our main character and point of view. She has the worst luck with men. Annie can’t seem to find one with the substance that stands up to her internal test. Fresh off another breakup Annie heads home to Logan Point, Indiana to spend time with her dad and research the article that will save her journalistic career. Well, that’s the plan anyway.
Likes
- Annie is a tough cookie, or uptown-girl as she refers to herself.
- She has lots of empathy and intelligence, but she is also head-strong with a snarky mouth.
- Annie doesn’t cuss or swear, but she does say “spit!” a lot, which is pretty funny.
- I liked that she was also a magnet for bad men, thankfully that may be ending.
- I don’t really have any dislikes, and she is a well-developed character with lots of growth during the story.
Things about the book that I liked:
- The small town is filled with charming and eccentric townspeople.
- The way the author described the décor at some of the places like the country club and the retirement home is hilarious.
- The use of supernatural throughout the story was well written and believable.
- The way that justice was served for the wronged.
- Charlie’s morals came under attack, and Annie won’t lose faith in her father.
- The way that Annie didn’t let Carter or Logan talk down to her.
- Edna Thistlewaite, she is such a wonderful person. While reading Annie’s visit with Edna, I was reminded of my Great Grandma’s friend Nopel, an old farm woman.
- Scott Wayne was one step ahead of Annie throughout the story.
- Charlie. He is such a stubborn guy, but he loves his daughter.
- There is mysteries, romance, supernatural, and a surprise or two.
- There are so many more great things about this book. So, read it!
5 Stars for Love Lies and Azure Eyes by Janis Thornton
My rating for Love Lies and Azure Eyes by Janis Thornton is five stars. This book was so fabulous. I fell in love with the characters, small-town Indiana, old cases, the lies, payoffs, the way the town believed the gossips and the touch of romance. The mysteries were well planned, and I loved the way that everything was pulled together.
I highly recommend this book.
