Easily the weakest volume so far which is giving me serious worries for the future of the series moving forward.

───────────────────

To put it gently, the novel is mostly action and a battle and while I wouldn't consider that to be a bad thing, it sort of does for Grimgar. We know close to nothing about the world and/or how they got there, and having to waste a full volume on a battle is honestly, not boding well for the future when it's already the third one without any answers.

The being said, I will give credit where it's due when it comes battle oriented scenes and entities in Grimgar. Jyumonji-sensei is very good at luring me in with the action when he gets the pace going, this time along it's on such a huge scale that I was pretty interested to learn more about the other parties and how they might work together in the raid they were planning. Knowing more about other characters is never a bad thing, although the newest addition to the world was as useless as the world implies in both reason to be in the story and battle prowess, I literally have zero ideas why he even bothered adding her at all.

I'm having a hard time writing something proper here for the sole reason that other than the battle, nothing actually happens that's worth commenting on, without spoilers anyway.

I'll say I was more disappointed than not because I expected some answers to anything without getting anything, I also heard that 10+ volumes later it's not really any different so to me, the future of my enjoyment in this series is pretty bleak. I'm not in a hurry to pick up any more volumes at the moment, but I will still continue it at some point.
