Robert "Bob" Nesta Marley, OM, born on 6th February 1945, Nine Mile, Saint Ann Parish, British Jamaica was a singer-songwriter and musician, who became an international musical and cultural icon, blending mainly reggae, ska, and rocksteady in his compositions. Having formed the group the Wailers in 1963, Bob developed a distinctive songwriting and vocal style that later came to resonate with audiences worldwide. The Wailers went on to release some of the earliest reggae records, with producer Lee "Scratch" Perry.
