Amigurumi is a Japanese word, meaning a stuffed little doll. It is usually made from crocheted yarn and has an oversized head. Amigurumi is a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning "crocheted" or "knitted", and nuigurumi, meaning "stuffed doll". The Mother and Little Girl pattern include how to make the Mother, Little Girl and Bean Bag. A basic knowledge of crochet is required to make the dolls. They are made with the single crochet stitch (UK: double crochet). Only the flower is made by using chain and double crochet stitch (UK: treble crochet). The size of the doll depends on the size of the crochet hook, thickness of yarn and how you stuff them; bigger hook and thicker yarn make a bigger doll. A doll stuffed tightly is bigger than a loosely stuffed doll. Size Little Girl: 2.6 inches high, Mother: 4.6 inches high (sitting position), Bean Bag: diameter = 5.6 inches, height = 2.2 inches. I hope you enjoy making this beautiful set. ~ Sayjai ~
