Engineering Electromagnetics (or Electromagnetic theory) is a required course in almost all undergraduate Electrical Engineering departments at the junior or senior level. However, most textbooks for the course lack an important ingredient computer based, numerical methods of electromagnetic field analysis - which is essential for today's electrical engineering students. This new text covers the traditional fundamentals of the closed form methods needed for good design and synthesis, and the new computer applications, including the finite differnce and finite element methods. A diskette with programs for actual applications will be available. The text is drawn from the junior level course the authors teach, and it fills the need for a modern course in electromagnetics using computers. A draft version of this textbook was tried out and fine-tuned during a special course given to instructors, from all over the world, on teaching electromagnetics.
