Once upon a time, GP Landry won the Canadian Authors' Association's CanWrite! Contest. It landed him a whopping $500. He continued to wallow in alcoholism for the next decade, only once making the longlist in the CBC Short Story Prize. When he got sober, he learned guitar arpeggios and how to bleed at the typewriter. He continues to write every day.
