J.R. Mason is an emerging literary voice from the Midwest. He has a master's in English- Creative Writing from the University of Northern Iowa and is currently pursuing a PhD in English Literature from Northern Illinois University. After working in theatre management, he embarked upon a career as an educator and currently works as a professor of English at several institutions throughout Chicagoland. Selections of his fiction have been published in both The Rubbertop Review and The Dead Mule literary journals. He currently resides in the Chicago suburbs with his three sons and long-standing girlfriend and is the founder of Irreverent Books Publishing. "The Way We Love" is his first novel.
