Cordelia Frances Biddle, a passionate feminist, originally trained as an actress and is adapting a novel for the stage. Her novels include They Believed They Were Safe, which explores the aftermath of a 1962 rape, and other historical fiction set in Victorian-era Philadelphia. Her nonfiction includes Biddle, Jackson, And A Nation In Turmoil and Saint Katharine. She teaches creative writing at Drexel University, winning the 2021 Adjunct Teaching Excellence Award.
