Cindy Ross is the author of four books and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles for such publications as The Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Backpacker, and Outdoor Life. An avid hiker, she has completed a thru-hike of the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails in addition to her family's adventure on the Continental Divide Trail.
