Thank God I've never seen the movie. I really liked this book, but I just can't see at as a movie. The greatest thing about the book is the inner monologue of Percy and his look on things and you just can't put that in a movie. Great series so far and I can't wait to read the rest of it!

I’m glad I persevered after reading the first one and not loving it, because this the second book in the series is awesome! For one I feel it’s faster passed, our hero’s Percy and Annabeth have to try and save one of my most loved characters from the first book Grover! Riordan also gives us another character to fall in love with in the form of Tyson! Of course at the end of the second book Riordan gives us a cliff-hanger ending propelling us into wanting to read the third instalment. The second is a much more engrossing book, but you would need the first to feel so.
Five Stars!! For young and old.

I love this series to death. First of all I love the whole Greek mythology thing. It’s fantastic. And I love how it’s used in this book. It’s a little modern and it makes it kind of funny sometimes. I LOVE the world the author created here.

I love how much time he puts into his characters too. He changes them but keeps them the same at the same time. They grow with the book. They get smarter but not perfect. I like that. Percy is amazing. He’ll do anything for his friends and family. Annabeth is great too. I feel like I know them both so much better now after reading this book. I loved the new characters introduced. Tyson is hilarious and I still hate Clarisse but a little bit less now.

What I loved most about the plot was that it was a mix of genres. It’s a fantasy book but there’s a lot of funny parts and I can feel some romance coming. Plus it’s got all these fancy morals in it everywhere. Like everything with Tyson. I like that when the characters grow, we do too because of all the new stuff we’re learning. Plus there’s action all throughout the book! I love it! You’ll never, ever get bored reading this!

The second book was just as good as the first. Percy's narrative cracks me up. I'm starting the third one right now.

I really love Mythology books, especially Greek and this is a great series. I love all the characters in the book, especially Percy and Annabeth and these books are really action packed and really easy to read.

I would recommend this series to anybody.

Wonderful continuation, can't wait to read the next one. I really like the incorporation of the mythology into the story and how it's not overly cheesy about it. Some of the situations or conversation are genuinely funny without trying to hard.
