This text aims to advance the subject of classical, rigid body collision theory for application to a broader range of problems. Topics include erosion and wear where small particle impacts remove material from softer surfaces, vibratory impact, the impact analysis of automobiles, articulated vehicle theory, and an analysis of NASA data from experimental aircraft collisions with the ground. Problems and examples are provided to enable the reader to gain practice and insight. With only a few exceptions, the mathematical level is basic algebra and calculus, although an understanding of basic dynamics is also required.
