Oh my God, SWOON!!! I absolutely LOVED this novel. It’s my first introduction to the Whiskeys and I’m so ready for more. Foster has a knack for knowing just what her readers want and she threw it to us with this novel.

Oh my God, Jed Moon. Dear God, he was perfect in every way for me. I start this book and in less than 24 hours I was ending my time with him and crying a little on the inside because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. And Josie, bless her, I was protective of her through out the story and was so happy to see her interactions with Moon.

This is a 4 star worthy book for sure. Despite not reading the previous books, I was not confused and felt a part of the story instantly. From start to finish, this book will make you swoon, smile, and want a whole lot more of the sexy Moon. Well done, Foster!

Josie Beckley caught my attention when I met her in the previous installment, Wicked Whiskey Love. I wanted to know her story, why she harboured so much anger towards her sister. When I learnt that Mad About Moonwould be her story I was on that baby like white on rice.


Josie is a widow and a single mom to a six-year-old boy. She grew up in an abusive environment, but she ran away and started a new life. This new life taught her how much she deserved to be loved. However, tragedy turned her life upside down and now she is down on her luck, homeless and living in a shelter.  She lost touch with her siblings, but fate brought her to the same town they lived. When she finally built up the courage to reconnect with them she reconnected not only with her siblings but also with Jed Moon, whom she never expected to see again.


Jed Moon has borne more than his fair share of pain and loss. He is a prospect for the Dark Knights, the biker group, who rescued him when his life was spiraling out of control.  Jed met Josie several years ago, but that one meeting made a lasting impression. He hoped he would once again see the girl who played a role in changing his life. So when Josie came looking for her siblings he saw this as the perfect opportunity to have her back in his life.


The sparks and chemistry, which burned between them years ago, was still alive.  

Given their history, the pace at which the romance developed came as no surprise. I enjoyed every aspect of their romance, which I found to be sweet and spicy.


My first impression of Josie, which occurred prior to this installment, was not flattering. My opinion changed after learning of her past. Her doubts and fears leapt off the pages. The reasons for her anger towards her siblings became so much clearer, but it was misplaced. I loved that she tried to make amends even though she was fearful at first, a fear that grew out of guilt.


I adored Jed. He has a huge heart. The way he embraced Josie’s son spoke volumes. Then there were the moments with his mom and sister. Jed is one of those persons who cannot turn their backs on someone who needs help.  I loved how he treated his mom despite her treatment towards him and her sister, while growing up. Never once did he give upon her.


Mad About Moon is an emotional read which features a cast of wonderful characters.  I enjoyed how much they loved and supported each other. Their actions showed that family does not necessarily have to comprise of blood relatives. Family is all about having people you can count on to be there for you through thick and thin.


Conclusion/Recommendation

Another heart-warming story by Melissa Foster and a great addition to the series.  Fans of spicy, heartwarming stories will appreciate this latest offering from the Ms. Foster.

Mad About Moon is part single mom, part MC, part second chance, and part former bad boy. I love the Whiskey series Foster has created and was excited to dive into Josie's book. Josie is a single mom who is down on her luck, living in a homeless shelter, and on the outs with her siblings. She doesn't want to be distant from them any more, but she doesn't know how to bridge the divide that the years of separation have created.

Jed Moon is a reformed bad boy that the Whiskey's have taken under their wing. He is now a prospect for the Dark Knights MC as well as working for the mechanic shop the Whiskey's own. He owes everything to the Whiskey's and when he sees Jojo, a blast from his past, he is ecstatic to step up and help her.

This story blends a WHOLE lot of things together, but it works. I think all the books in this series have a lot going on, so Foster has created some very dynamic characters. Josie, aka Jojo, is mourning the unexpected loss of her husband, raising their son as a single mom, and trying to heal from her abusive past. Moon is trying to make up for the mistakes he has made in his life and become a person he can be proud of. He felt an instant connection to Josie when they met years ago, but then she was gone. He isn't willing to let her go so quickly this time. Add in the adorableness of Hail and the other Whiskey kids and Mad About Moon gives you an entertaining read that will warm your heart!

I have been looking forward to this story since it was hinted at, at the end of Wicked Whiskey Love.

I LOVED this book. Josie is such a good main character. She is tough, independent but also full of love. Josie had a very tough childhood but she has come out the other side so much stronger for it. The scenes with Josie's sister, Sarah and brother, Scott, were very emotional but also heartwarming.

Jed Moon or Moon as he is sometimes called is a sweetheart. When he was younger he did some shady things for the right reasons but he has now well and truly turned his life around. He is on the path to a bright future and I couldn't help but be proud of him. I was so impressed with his mentorship idea it was truly inspiring. His unwavering love for his family was also impressive as many would have long given up on his mum.

This book had all the feels and Melissa had me wiping away those tears on more than one occasion.

I loved this story so much. Every time I read one of Melissa's books I think this is the best yet and then the next one comes out and she tops it! I can't wait to see what she brings us next!
