I grew up a reader, and a dreamer. While much of my childhood was spent exploring the woods outside my home in Michigan, I can remember those rainy days with a favorite fiction novel or two. There, in the confines of my room, I'd explore worlds within the pages, fighting creatures with mammoth fangs and hot tempers, winning battles that were unwinnable, and crawling through mysterious caverns in search of the next ancient artifact. As an adult, teaching high school gave me the opportunity to reignite my passion for adventure as I saw many students with the same wide-eyed spark for fiction books. They inspired me to dive in and pick up my manuscript once again. Writing isn't easy inherently, and even tougher when you know someone is going to read it and criticize it. But after the first few chapters of writing The Watcher Key, something began to really open up inside of me. I wrote because I really wanted to, and loved every minute of it. Strange new worlds, eccentric characters, immortal powers-they were all within my grasp, just beneath the keys of my keyboard. I love writing, and I am honored and humbled whenever someone reads my books. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for jumping into my adventures with me! Above all, I give God the glory for any talents that I claim. I am also thankful to my family, who have loved and supported me through a very long publishing process. It is a journey, and just like my books, it can be an adventure filled with twists and turns that has often left me questioning, Should I have been an engineer instead? Regardless, whenever I pick up my pen, or my computer to write, I feel something wonderful-something that tells me I am right where I should be. As the author of the Descendants of Light series, I have sought to bring others into the imaginative world of immortal beings, dragons, and epic conflicts of Light and Darkness. The first novel, The Watcher Key, is based upon the Descendants of Light, an ancient people who claim ancestry from the Watchers-spiritual beings from the heavens. In the first book, Samuel Forrester discovers his connection to the Descendants, and is thrust into a plot by the dark forces to deceive the followers of Light. Then, in the second book, The Watcher Tower, the discovery of an ancient tower gives the Descendants a glimpse into the dark force's ultimate plan, to destroy Lior. With with the final book, The Watcher Light, the conflict between the Descendants and the Dark Forces draw to a conclusion, ending in a legendary battle that will rock the very foundation of Lior-and of Earth.
