Born and raised in Romania, Carmen Micsa moved to America in 1995 and chose to write about her old life in communist Romania and her new life in America. Freedom Rocks is Carmen's first book/memoir that she is also working on publishing. She has published articles in a few local and national publications and a memoir piece Grandpa's Garden in the anthology From Sac Home Myths & Other Untruths together with some of her graduate school classmates. Carmen also writes short fiction, travel articles, and picture books. She is also the owner/author of her blog www.runningforrealestate.com. She earned a BA degree in English and a MA in English (Creative Writing) both from Sacramento State University. Besides writing, Carmen Micsa enjoys being a mother to her two beautiful children Alex and Sophia. She finished number two in Northern California in women singles as a 4.00 in 2015 and got moved up to 4.5. She also ran her third marathon in 2016, the California International Marathon in Sacramento, which she finished in 3:47:47 minutes with a personal best. Besides tennis, Carmen loves to bike and has done 100K and century (100 miles) bike rides for Diabetes Tour de Cure in memory of her beloved father.
