My professional training is in zoology, with a Bachelor of Arts from California, Master of Arts from New Zealand, and PhD from Australia. I have taught at the National University of Singapore, consulted at the China-Europe International Business School in Shanghai, and served as a medical writer for several German and American companies. Because of my eclectic background and my travels, I am interested in a great variety of literature and writing forms. Outside of science and business, I have written about the Chinese language, martial arts, meditation, crime, fantasy, and most recently about blues in short stories, songs, poetry, and mini-essays.
