Carolyn Mitchell grew up in western Washington reading every book she could get her hands on. She got her first job at age sixteen in the kitchen of a senior care center, where she learned how much she loved spending time visiting with residents and hearing their stories. She carried this love into her career of massage therapy, and worked for a hospice and later as an activities director for memory care facilities. Her favorite part of her job is hearing their life stories: where they've been, what they've done, and what they've learned about life. Carolyn currently lives in Avondale, Arizona, with her rescued Shih Tzu, Rio. She volunteers at a beautiful no-kill animal shelter every week. She loves spending time with her six kids and nine grandchildren, and her greatest hope is that all people can enjoy visiting with their grandmas and grandpas, no matter where they live.
