Lindsey has loved manatees since she was in elementary school and first did a report on them after her parents went to a Jimmy B concert and heard him spread awareness about the endangered animal. She was inspired to write this book after her husband surprised her with a trip to Florida to swim with manatees and she fell even more in love with them. She currently lives with her husband and dog in Seattle, WA.
