Mihai V. PUTZ received the Laurea in Physics (1997), M.S. degree in Spectroscopy (1999), and Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (2002), with four postdoctorate stages: one in Chemistry (2002-2003) at University of Calabria and other three in physics (2004, 2010, 2011) at Free University of Berlin. He is currently Associate Professor of theoretical and computational physical chemistry at Chemistry Department of West University of Timi?oara, Romania. He has made valuable contributions in computational, quantum, and physical chemistry throughout seminal works appeared at Physical Review (published by American Physical Society), Journal of Physical Chemistry (published by American Chemical Society), Theoretical Accounts in Chemistry (published by Springer), Journal of Computational Chemistry, International Journal of Quantum Chemistry (published by Wiley), Journal of Theoretical and Computational Chemistry (published by World Scientific), International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Molecules (published by Molecular Diversity Preservation International), Journal of Molecular Structure THEOCHEM (published by Elsevier), among many others. He is actively promoting of a new method of defining electronegativity, DFE (Density Functional Electronegativity), new quantum particle for the chemical bond (the Bondon), among new enzymic kinetics (Logistic Enzyme Kinetics), and of new structure-activity relationship (SPECTRAL-SAR) model for a unitary quantum approach of the chemical reactivity targeting the bio-, pharmaco-, and ecological analytical description. Recently, he was engaged as Editor-in-Chief of newly established International Journal of Chemical Modeling (published by NOVA Science, NY), and International Journal of Environment Sciences (published by Serials Publishers, New Delhi), along Guest Editing the Special Issues of Chemical Bond and Bonding (2008) and Atoms in Molecules and in Nanostructures (2011) for International Journal of Molecular Sciences, being active also as Volumes Editor such as of Advances in Quantum Chemical Bonding Structures (2008) at Research Signpost Kerala-India; Quantum Frontiers of Atoms and Molecules (2011) at Nova Science, USA; SAR & SPECTRAL-SAR in Computational Ecotoxicology (2011) at Apple Academics, Canada; or Carbon Structure and Bonding: Advances in Physics and Chemistry (2011) at Springer, London. MVP is member of renowned professional societies such as The American Chemical Society (USA) and European Society of Mathematical Chemistry (RO), being included from 2010-2012 into Who’s Who in the World editions, while delivering many international lectures and conferences, as well receiving national and international awards and research grants as such from Romanian National Authority of Scientific Research (2008), Romanian National Conceil of Scientific Research (2006-2007; 2010-2011); from German Academic Service Exchange DAAD (2000, 2004, 2011) and from Center of International Cooperation of Free University Berlin (2010), respectively. Following an honoring tradition of figures, MVP is the actual leader of the Laboratory of Computational and Structural Physical Chemistry at Chemistry Department of West University of Timi?oara unfolding the researching fields of quantum chemistry and quantitative-structure activity relationships (QSAR) with new input and methods. In 2010 Mihai V. PUTZ was declared through a national competition the Best Researcher of Romania.
