Kylie Abecca has been writing since the age of 5, having her first poem published in a state newspaper at the age of 6. Kylie's parents have fostered many children over the years, giving Kylie some insight as to life as a foster child. Every two years, Kylie and her mum travel to Indonesia and visit orphanages, taking them food and necessities and helping out in any way they can. Due to life-threatening disabilities, Kylie is unable to be a foster parent herself, so she decided to write a series of books not only for foster children, but to help give some insight to other children as to what life is like in care. Today, Kylie lives in coastal Western Australia with her medical assistance dog Cruizer.
