Barbara Linn Probst is a writer of both fiction and non-fiction whose acclaimed debut, Queen of the Owls (April 2020), was featured on lists compiled by Working Mother, Parade Magazine, Bustle, Pop Sugar, and Entertainment Weekly. Barbara's second book, The Sound Between the Notes (April 2021), was the recipient of a starred Kirkus review, which called it "a sensitive, astute exploration of artistic passion, family, and perseverance." Both books were short-listed, in consecutive years, for the Eric Hoffer $2500 Grand Prize. Barbara has a PhD in clinical social work and is a former therapist, researcher, teacher, and advocate. She is also a "serious amateur" pianist and has traveled extensively-including, of course, to Iceland. The Color of Ice is her third novel. She lives in Garrison, New York.
