Patrick James is the Dornsife Dean's Professor of International Relations at the University of Southern California. He specializes in comparative and international politics and is the author or editor of more than 30 books and over 170 articles and book chapters. Dr. James previously served as the president of the International Studies Association (ISA). His interests at the international level include the causes, processes, and consequences of conflict, crisis, and war. With regard to domestic politics, his interests focus on Canada, notably with respect to the constitutional dilemma. Dr. James holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Maryland.
